Act in a performance

On 19th of December, 2008, I acted in the drama called: The Taming of the Shrew. It was written by William Shakespeare and organized by Drama Club. The performance was a big success and we raised more than 8000 RMB for the charity.

We practiced a lot before, so we didn't feel very scared. That day morning, I got up very late with excitation, and was ready for the day. Around 4 o’clock in the afternoon, I went to the hallway and dressed up. Each performer couldn’t stop to look forward to the coming of that moment.

Finally, it came! The doors were opened, crowds of people flooded in and we all encouraged with each other. Lights were all turned on and the whole stage was turned into a middle ages picture. After a short introduction, performers came to the stage in succession. I saw a lot of teachers and students sitting here. During the acting, I also used some skills that we hadn’t ever used when we practiced. For example, I was in the last scene, we acted like a farewell. At last, the audiences clapped with all their might. After the performance, we shouted and teachers praised us a lot. On that way’s home, my feelings were very mixed. Other people could watch the actor’s brilliant perform, but no one would realized his hardships when he practiced except himself.

Going through this wonderful acing experience, I have learned how to say English in a dramatic way, the spirit of cooperating and the procedures of acting in English dramas. I also achieved an award with Rachel in 12-D. I hope I can join the drama next year!
