Go to an exhibition by myself

On the afternoon of March 8, 2009, I went to the Museum of Nanjing with my father. It's free and there was an exhibition of Chinese lacquer works. China was among the first country to use paint. In Shang period, there were more advanced technology has become aristocratic luxury goods. Han and Wei periods were the golden age of Chinese lacquer process. Ming and Qing dynasties, lacquer process developed into national handicrafts. They formed a unique paints center.

When I entered the saloon, I saw a lot of fine artworks. Though they were protected by glass, I could also see them clearly. There were different kinds of lacquer works. For example, boxes, folding screens, teapots and so on. They all represent traditional Chinese cultural and agglomerate the wisdom of Chinese.

Among all these artworks, my favorite artwork is a painted throne in Qing Dynasty. Its height is 140cm, length is 150cm and width is 90cm. The color of the lacquer is red and the whole throne is carved with dragon stripes and bat stripes. It was set in Beijing and moved here. I like it very much because it looked very grand and let me think of the ambience in the palace.

I felt very excited about this exhibition because I love history and I learn more about Chinese history this time. Though I study more English than Chinese, I shouldn't forget our Chinese tradition and history. I hope I can see more exhibitions about Chinese history in the future!

Eating with my family

On the evening of March 8th, I went to Bella Napoli Italian Restaurant with my father. It's on Zhongshan Lu, Deji Plaza 2F. I decided to go there because my father and I both like Italian food and it's a very quiet and harmony place to go.

We arrived at 7 p.m. My father chose a table in the middle of the restaurant. Suddenly, I saw my English teacher, Ms. Jackson. She told me that her home is near here, she also introduced a kind of dumplings to me while we were ordering food. We ordered a plate of Seafood macaroni, a plate of Bacon macaroni, a plate of salad, two bottles of milk shake and an ice-cream.

While we were waiting for the meal, I paid attention to the environment here. It's not big but very tidy and each table has a table on it, there were also some foreigners here. Finally, we got our food. They looked very nice! The Bacon macaroni was for my father and the Seafood macaroni was for me. I tasted and it's really yummy! There were a lot of shrimps and sleeve-fish. They are my favorite! The macaroni here was very stench. I also like the salad very much. There were different kinds of cabbages and carrots, they can produce me a lot of vitamins. The last course was ice-cream. It's very aromatic and cool. There was also some cornmeal in it. At last, we finished our dinner and went home.

That night, I really had a good time and I learned more about Italian food and culture. I felt very satisfied with that meal and I hope I can go there again with my friends next time.
